PARADISE RIDGE Supports the CLIMATE PROTECTION CAMPAIGN

The Climate Protection Campaign has been instrumental in bringing millions of dollars to Sonoma County to support climate protection initiatives & programs. Sonoma County Community Climate Action Plan issued in 2008 outlines solutions to meet Sonoma County’s bold greenhouse gas reduction target - 25% below 1990 levels by 2015.

The Plan focuses on 4 key categories: Transportation & Land Use, Energy Efficiency, Renewables, and Conserve & Capture. Although successful in bringing money to the county for climate & energy projects, only a fraction of these funds actually comes to the Climate Protection Campaign.

PARADISE RIDGE & the ‘Cool Schools Program’
Since 2003 the Climate Protection Campaign has supported student leaders in taking action to protect the climate. Our ‘Cool Schools’ has proven results in seven high schools in significantly reducing emissions associated with the student commute. We will now take this service learning program that engages youth in taking leadership and expand it through Sonoma County.
